Official Opening of Esbjerg Festival

We’re so excited to get Esbjerg Festival started with a bang – and you’re invited! Head to the main square, where Mayor Jesper Frost Rasmussen will officially open the festival with a speech at around 6:15 PM.

Right after, Esbjerg’s very own Leslie will take the stage for her first concert since winning X Factor!

Leslie will perform her brand-new single "What's Up", her powerful take on the '90s classic by 4 Non Blondes.

She wowed everyone with the song during the third live show of X Factor, cementing her superstar status in the competition. In a press release, Leslie shares that the song’s themes reflect her own personal journey.

We can’t wait to welcome Leslie to the Esbjerg Festival stage – performing live in her hometown for the very first time!

After Leslie’s performance, the stage will be handed over to local musicians behind the special tribute concert Esbjerg Pays Tribute to Madsen.

A very special opening awaits at this year's festival. Local singer Tanni Christine Thuesen has taken the lead in bringing together a group of local musicians and singers for a tribute concert honoring the late Johnny Madsen.

"We hope that lots of people from Esbjerg will join us at Torvet to celebrate one of our true legends, Johnny Madsen. We're ready for plenty of sing-alongs with his parade of hits. It’s the perfect way to kick off this year’s festival," says singer Tanni Christine Thuesen.
