About Esbjerg Festival

The Esbjerg Festival is an explosion of cultural offerings. It is the city's festival, and there is something for everyone.

Since its inception in 1997, the festival has grown significantly, and each year we strive to develop both new and existing activities to ensure that the festival remains an exciting event to visit year after year.

The festival’s many events are organized by the city's creative enthusiasts, associations, and cultural institutions. The festival itself is coordinated by the Event Secretariat of Esbjerg Municipality. Together with the city's cultural institutions, cafés, restaurants, and associations, we create the activities for this special week. There is something for all ages and tastes—whether high culture or mainstream—so be sure to explore the program and take the plunge into something new.

Musically, the festival offers everything from church concerts and opera to pop. As tradition dictates, there will be numerous free concerts at the Town Square, so keep an eye on the schedule for performance times and artist lineups.

The festival is synonymous with art and culture. We encourage everyone to experience as much as possible, as there are countless opportunities to explore. The harbor serves as a unique hub for art, hosting around 60 containers filled with crafts and artworks that can be discovered at ContainerKUNST at Dokhavnen. Additionally, Esbjerg Art Days takes place at Det Gule Palæ. If you have children or grandchildren, don’t miss out on our Family Day in Vognsbølparken.
