Pilu is a trained office assistant who worked for 11 years as a secretary to the head of department and as a consultant for Greenland’s Self-Government.

In 2019, Pilu moved to Esbjerg with her family—her husband and two children—and is currently studying Multimedia Design at Business Academy South West in Esbjerg.

Alongside her studies, Pilu works as an interpreter for the Danish Parliament.

Pilu is courageous in expressing her opinions and uses humor to effectively convey her message. She is particularly engaged in Greenland’s political and cultural development.

In her lecture, she will share diverse personal experiences of Greenland and Greenlanders—a people with strong cultural values and a deep connection to nature; a nature that is beautiful, harsh, and central to Greenlandic identity.

Pilu encourages debate based on her memories and experiences, particularly regarding her identity as a child of the Danish Realm, where feelings are divided between Greenland and Denmark.

We look forward to welcoming you to this exciting and educational event during the Festival week, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of Greenland’s flag on June 21!
