Come aboard Museumsfyrskibet
During Esbjerg Festival, the impressive Motorfyrskib nr. 1, docked in the lagoon at Esbjerg Strand, opens its doors to the public with free admission.
Esbjerg
You’ve probably seen the impressive Motorfyrskib moored in the lagoon at Esbjerg Strand, but did you know that it’s the largest wooden motor lightship in the world?
Motorfyrskib nr. 1, as the ship is called, is now a floating museum, which you can board and explore for free during Esbjerg Festival. For 73 years, the ship served as a loyal guide, steering seafarers away from danger and safely on course through the waters around Esbjerg and Horns Rev.
Onboard the lightship, you can learn more about what a motor lightship is and the role it played here at Esbjerg. As a bonus, you can also discover more about life at Horns Rev in the 20th century.
All in all, an exciting experience awaits the whole family – something you truly shouldn’t miss.
