Esbjerg Festival 2025: A week of sunshine, celebration, and record-breaking support

Esbjerg Festival 2025 has just wrapped up after nine days of blazing sunshine, big smiles, and a city buzzing with life. With a wildly diverse programme featuring everything from children’s activities, opera, ocean dips and street art to concerts, culinary delights, art and comedy, the festival has drawn thousands of visitors from Esbjerg, Copenhagen, Aarhus – and beyond.

This year, there’s been no excuse not to top up on culture during the festival. No matter your age or interests, there’s been a wealth of experiences in all shapes and sizes – from the grand and spectacular to the intimate and local.

Every single event throughout the week has enjoyed tremendous support, and the initial numbers already show that the concerts at Torvet during the first weekend drew huge crowds. The vibe in the city has been one of joy, community and celebration. The weather has been on our side from start to finish – and the sunny summer days added even more sparkle to the festivities, says Event Director Kirsten Bisgaard Kirchner:

“Esbjerg Festival 2025 has been something truly special. The programme has been wide-ranging, and it’s been incredibly moving to see both locals and visitors join in the fun. A huge thank you goes out to all our sponsors, volunteers and partners – and most of all to the audience, who showed up in full force.”

Mayor Jesper Frost Rasmussen also celebrates the strong turnout:

“Once again, the festival has shown what Esbjerg is capable of when we come together. The atmosphere throughout the city has been amazing all week, and it’s clear that Esbjerg Festival is something the people of Esbjerg truly cherish. Thanks to everyone who contributed – and especially to the many guests who helped create the magic.”

Looking ahead, it’s worth marking weeks 24 and 25 in your calendar – that’s when Esbjerg Festival is set to take place.

And already now, you can start looking forward to next year’s festival, running from 12–20 June 2026.
