# Lunch jazz with Neanders at Tobakken

Come to lunchtime jazz when Neanders visits Tobakken.

Neanders Jazzband was founded in 1978 in Sønderjylland and has since been a steady part of the Danish jazz scene. With roots in traditional jazz and inspiration from legends such as Kid Ory, Louis Armstrong and Sidney Bechet, the band continues to deliver the authentic, swinging jazz that started it all – now expanded with a broader repertoire over the years.

The band has performed all over the country and appeared at a long list of festivals, including Tønder Festival, Riverboat Festival, Femø Jazzfestival and Esbjerg Jazzfestival, as well as on stages in both Germany and England.

Neanders Jazzband also collaborated for seven years with the American jazz and gospel singer Lillian Boutté – a popular partnership that led to annual gospel tours in churches and jazz clubs across Denmark.
