# Grundform Festival

Students from MGK offer a day filled with free live music, where young musicians get the chance to showcase their talent to the audience.

On 17 June 2026 at 3:00 PM, the Grundform Festival returns to Platformen in Esbjerg for the fourth year in a row. The audience can experience both rhythmic and classical musicians as well as songwriters, making the festival a versatile musical experience.

##  Experience a live legend

This year’s headliner is the acclaimed Danish bassist Ida Nielsen, who will close the festival together with the MGK students. Ida is known for her wild funk sound and her collaboration with Prince. Through explosive live performances, her powerful grooves, and virtuosic bass playing, Ida has established herself as one of Europe’s strongest funk bassists.

Grundform Festival serves both as a concert experience and a learning project for the young organizers. The festival gives the students experience with concert management, planning, and festival production, while also giving other young people insight into life at MGK.

The festival is aimed especially at young people between 16 and 25, and the organizers collaborate with upper secondary schools, FGU, and Vindmøllen to reach a wide audience of young people in the Esbjerg area.

Admission to the festival is free.
