5 Great Festival Tips for You as a Parent
As a parent, you can make a big difference—before, during, and after the festival. Here are five specific tips for creating safe environments and positive experiences for your child or teenager.
Take responsibility!
You’re the adult. Set clear rules with your child and help ensure they have fun in a safe way.
Talk to each other!
Talk with the parents of the friends your child is going with. This makes it easier to set common guidelines—and to identify when the claim “everyone else is allowed” might not be entirely true.
Consider the drinks!
If your child is allowed alcohol during the festival, agree on how much. When there’s a clear agreement, most teenagers will try to stick to it.
Stay close by!
Instead of just dropping off and picking up, consider joining in. Find a seat around Torvet. This way, you’ll also be able to share and talk about the experience long afterward.
No glass, please!
Help keep Torvet and surrounding areas free of broken glass: Use the designated waste bins.
